While you can see polar bears in several different parts of the arctic, Churchill offers a truly unique experience. For one, it's one of the more accessible areas and another, the bears behave differently here. More about the Churchill Northern Studies Centre, our accommodation and a research facility for visiting scientists most of the year. It doubles as accommodation for tourists during 'polar bear season' (which runs from late October through November).
A brief tour of the accommodations at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre. Remember this isn't a 5 star resort, but it's very clean, comfortable and a FULLY GREEN building. You can pretend your a visiting scientist carrying out subarctic and tundra research. The meals are always delicious and hardy! Hot coffee and cocoa, snacks are always available.
